For Four
For Four was written as a tribute to my own instrument, Guitar. None of the Guitars plays "lead". All four plays their voices that makes up a musical whole. Maybe the guitarists becomes "Four Brothers" or "Four Others".
For Four was written for four Guitars, double bass and percussion. Both accoustic and electric Guitars can be used. For Four is thought to be a quartet where all voices are equal. Both the compositions Four Brothers and Four Others has been guides for me regarding writing close for four Guitars in the jazz genre.
