Odd-Arne on historical ground on the Faroe Islands, where he literally held his hand on tradition; The walls of the St. Magnus cathedral from the viking age. The church lies on the old viking site Kirkjubo that shows the Faroe Islands lingual and cultural roots to Norway. Odd-Arne did a successful project together with the local bassist/composer Edvard N. Debess. They held a workshop for young musicians and a well received duo concert. Note the beautiful language on this poster that contain so much of the old nordic linguistic roots.
Odd-Arnes concert with Alexei Kuznetsov was a great success. The audience loved this master meeting with two guitarists that challenged each other to play "beyond their range". They were presented on Russian TV's cultural channel where tens of millions of people could watch an interview with Odd-Arne and see recordings of the rehersal and the concert with Alexei Kuznetsov.
Odd-Arne was also guest artist with Kuznetsov Quartet in a Duke Ellington medley comprising "Prelude To A Kiss", "In A Sentimental Mood" and "C-Jam Blues".
Here are four pictures from the concert held in Moscow International Performing Art Center on friday the 21. october 2005. They were taken by Pavel Umyarov. Two of the pictures are from Odd-Arnes solo performance, and the two others are of the duoperformance with guitarist Alexei Kuznetsov.
